The Captains Log 27/12

Solar System: A1-AUH; Esoteria. Amarr; Domain

Shiptype: Drake Class Battlecruiser, Prophecy Class Battlecruiser, Harbinger Class Battlecruiser

Logging on to Eve I notice two things. 1st Privateer Alliance had once again war deced us and therefore Daqurais and Maximus Sotar (both corp mates) were fighting them up in Amarr. 2nd GoonSwarm has brought a Drake plus support gang into our space and were terrorizing the local carebares. Normally, I am all for shooting Goons, but I was trapped in a station in my ratting Raven with a Goon fleet between me and all my PvP ships (consisting of one). Thankfully a fellow corp member, JShepard, lent me a Drake to fight in. Our fleet was outnumbered by 2:1 but we decided to go for it, the idea being that our four logistics ships would keep us alive. Well the plan worked… for a little bit then we all got toasted by the multitude of Drakes they had. Seriously, check my loss mail to see how many Drakes were utilised in splattering my Drake across Star Gate. However, it wasn’t a complete loss as we did manage to kill some of them (Broadsword, Broadsword, Broadsword, Drake, Drake, Drake, Hurricane).

So after that botched home defence I logged Caladan09 on in Amarr and proceeded to camp the Privateer Alliance boys into the Amarr station. Unfortuantly they didn’t want to come out and play so we decided have some fun with another guy in Amarr, Junzai, who kept on leaving cans outside station for people to steal from. So we stole from them, he would shoot one of us, we would shoot him then he would dock up. The major problem we had was we didn’t have corp agro on him so only one of could us attack him at any time (whoever stole from the can).

Well that all changed when a Mammoth undocked and was promptly killed by the Amarr Police leaving behind 20k units of hydrogen istopes in his wreak. I went to steal from them only to have Junzai steal them first so I stole them of him and then he came out in a Iteron and stole them back, which gave him corp agro to all of us. So when he undocked in a Megathron we laid in the hurt and blew him up along with some neutral remote rep he had. After that we gave up on the Privateers in Amarr and went to Jita only to be disappointed there as well as they wouldn’t undock and fight so we logged off.

The next day we were back at playing the Privateers in Amarr. Only this time it didn’t work out so well. On my way back from Jita in my Prophecy I ran into a Privateer Drake. I forced him to engage me on a gate one jump from the rest of the fleet but by the time they arrived I had died and the Drake had warped off. So we went back to playing docking games until Privateers brought in more people to play with us and killed Daquaris Dominix and then my Harbinger which I had just bought, when I failed to dock back up in time. Ahh well not everything works out. The only reason these losses hurt was due me losing my ratting Raven just minutes before to warp scrambling rats.

Hulkageddon II

The Captains Log 25/12

Prometheus09 stood infront of the viewport overlooking the traffic exiting the station where he watched a Hulk enter warp heading towards the nearest asteroid the belt. Prometheus09 knew what he would find if he went to any of the belts in system; Hulks strip mining the belts of all there minerals leaving behind the husks of once great asteroids.

Miners failed to see the splendours that existed in asteroids belts where rocks had taken millions of years to form marvellous shapes and structures. Each one unique. Each one splendid in its glory. All the miners saw was ISK.

That would change.

The miners were going to pay for the ecological damage they promoted and CONCORD wouldn’t be able to stop it.

Prometheu09 turned back to his datapad and looked at the message he had just received. Helicity Boson was requesting for help for her next Hulkageddon. Well Prometheus09 would be their defending the ecological rights of all asteroids.

Let the miners fear him. Hulkageddon was coming.

Earlier this year I.M.M participated in the first Hulkageddon, which achieved some 65 Exhumer kills. Well guess what people; Hulkageddon is back and better than ever. Helicity Boson, the organiser of Hulkageddon, has set it to last for a week from the 7th of January to the 14th of January. Additionally, there are a variety of prizes you can win with 1st Prize consisting of three billion ISK. Yes you heard right, three billion ISK. There are also a variety of other achievements available for individuals who want to win some ISK and free ships (Prize List). For anyone that needs some pointers on how to go about ganking a Hulk read this post here.

So when the time comes get you gank ships out into space and kill those Hulks.

Knocking at the POS

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

The Captains Log 22/12

System: Ziona, Domain

Ship: Armageddon Class Battleship

CONCORD Preservation and Recovery has being steadily growing since we opened up recruitment (closed now by the way apart from exceptional circumstances) and we can now field a sizable fleet of Gank battleships and remote rep support. Unfortunately, though targets have being a little sparse due to potential targets either removing their POS or onlineing some heavy defences. We even war deced a sys-k alt corp, didn’t know it at the time buy hey what can you do.

This lack of targets led me to declaring war on three corps at once in the hope of being able to destroy some of their POS’s. Upon war decing one corporation, Medicean Rebellion, I had this nice little chat

Epimithius09 > Gday
Shi Hearthbreaker > good evening ^_^
Epimithius09 > how can i help you
Shi Hearthbreaker > you declared war to us ^_^
Shi Hearthbreaker > i would like to know the resons ^_^
Epimithius09 > we were hired. you up set our client and he just wants us to gank your ships
Shi Hearthbreaker > oh i see, any chance you can tell me the name of this proud boy? =)
Epimithius09 > Client confidentiality sorry
Shi Hearthbreaker > no problem ^_^ i understand that
Epimithius09 > thanks : )
Epimithius09 > nothing personal you see
Epimithius09 > we get payed no matter what even if we dont kill you.
Shi Hearthbreaker > oh no problema ^_^ you won’t have any target except me from tomorrow ^_^
Epimithius09 > well we get more if we do
Shi Hearthbreaker > i understand, how much he payed?
Epimithius09 > well you know if you sit in station and we sit out side it makes us look like we are doing somethign and we get paied
Epimithius09 > its al cool
Shi Hearthbreaker > yep yep i’ll be in station pretty all day for chatting ^_^
Epimithius09 > 100mill just for the war dec
Epimithius09 > extra if we kill you
Shi Hearthbreaker > wow he really hate us ^_^ it’s hard to figure who can be, we are just a mission running corp ^_^
Epimithius09 > aye some people can get really up set from small things, like nija salvgers for example. I knew on guy that got us to war dec a person just becasue the missioner started blowing up his own wreaks
Epimithius09 > not that i mind i get paied
Shi Hearthbreaker > the point is that we are the runners that get ninja sometimes ^_^ maybe is something i dunno ^_^
Epimithius09 > aye
Shi Hearthbreaker > anyway ths for the fair talk ^_^
Epimithius09 > np

Well it seemed that my little chat worked as he didn’t try online his POS guns or even try to take it down. To add a little credibility to the illusion we suicided ganked one of the corporations Mackinaws we found defacing an Ice asteroid. Someone has to stand up for the rights of Ice. Another target, Catastrophe Averted Research, unanchored their POS, though we were very close to stealing it for ourselves. Unfortunately, he got a friend to come in scoop the POS before we had a chance. Very unfair.

While waiting for the War Decs to go live we had a little fun doing some can flipping. I came in and scooped a can full of worthless ore that one of our members had found then came back in my Armageddon. The miners apparently didn’t like this as they came back in a snipping Apocalypse and a Blackbird. The Blackbird proceeded to tackle and jam me while the Apco sniped. Unfortunately for the Blackbird he failed at jamming and I popped him in two volleys. Without the support of the Blackbird the Apocalypse quickly left.

However, they weren’t about to leave things at that. They came back in an Executioner, Rifiter and a Drake. Sepono in his Ishkur killed the Rifiter before he managed to tackle me, the Executioner though tackled me and the Drake proceeded to tear through my armour. I had a bit of a problem now. The Executioner was speed tanking my guns while the Drake was too far out my optimal to hit him. I was starting to sweat as my armour began to disappear and my structure started to fall apart. Fortunately Sepono abandoned some his light drones next to me which allowed me to take them and then deploy them against the Executioner, killing it and allowing me to warp out in deep structure.

The next day the POS shoot up began in earnest. It was surprising at how fast a small POS will fall to seven Armageddon’s. A little hitch in our plans to take out this POS came in the form of a reinforcement time set for 1 day and 17 hours. So we moved onto two large POS owned by EHRSO which were offline and proceeded to reduce them to little more the sparkling dust floating on the solar wind. These POS’s didn’t have the greatest modules on them but they were better than nothing and we were saving the moons from ecological damage. After that I started a chat with Compleeter, the Catastrophe Averted Research CEO, and tried to get him to pay us a ransom for any future POS he put up. Unfortunately he didn’t pay up and preceded to online a medium POS with lots EWAR. That guy had better watch his back.

One day and 17 hours later we found ourselves once again outside of Shi’s POS. Shi had gone through and onlined the six laser turents he had at the POS. Thankfully we had some characters that can use remote rep Dominix’s enabling us to shrug off the damage it tried to inflict on our little fleet. After we had incapacitated the guns and the POS came out of reinforced we smashed it into lots of tiny pieces and looted all the juicy modules.

 2009.12.19.14.38.00

The Golden Fleet.

Well now we are just waiting on a few more war decs to go through then we can kill more POS.Yay!

The Captains Log 20/12

Solar System: F-UVBV

Ship: Chimera Class Carrier

After running the Guristas Epic Arc mission I had myself a Gila BPC which I then used to build me a Gila. Now I have wanted the Gila ever since I saw the changes that were being made to them, however there is another ship I wanted even more, so I sold the Gila to Daquaris and bought the Pride of the Pantheon.

The Pride of the Pantheon inspecting some Amarr station ruins.

So now I have a new capital ship in my little fleet, a Chimera. So far I have only used it in running some anomalies, for which it is a bit of overkill. Hopefully, I’ll be able use it in battle soon.

Working For the Guristas

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

The Captains Log  17/12

System: Obe

Ship: Ishkur Class Assult Ship

With the release of dominion CCP introduced the Pirate Epic Arc Missions, which I decided to try out for myself. CCP stated that these mission would work best for interceptors, but I think Interceptors are a little too weak for this sort of work so I bought and fitted a Ishkur to take with me and brought Fishy Night up from the depths of 0.0 to scout me through Venal. The trip up there was rather uneventful as I took it nice and slow with plenty of caution, which prevented me from being sucked into a bubble unlike this noob.

TreeSlayer > dont shoot

TreeSlayer > I am a rookie

TreeSlayer > please ?

TreeSlayer > :|

DrDooma > sorry

Star Nove > Welcome to eve online ;)

As it turns out Venal is the playground of Triumverate, who are blue to Sys-k, which made running missions a fair bit easier, though there were still plenty of neutrals flying around. There was even one GoonSwarm guy in local when I got to my agent. Sigh. No matter where I go I can’t escape them.

My first Agent, Kori, informed me that the Caldari Navy was trying to push the Guristas out of Venal, thus he wanted me to kill some miners along with their escort so I could capture one a crew member so my agent could determine the location of some Caldari Navy bases. Well I had allot of experience killing Hulks back in empire and this time I didn’t have to worry about CONCORD interfering with me. Well the miners died and the Guristas got to torture some helpless people, which got me my next mission. The miners gave my agent the location to starbase that was producing a unknown capital ship, so it was my job was to go in there and get its blueprint. I had a choice of knocking on the front and barging my way in or taking a back door in which case I would have to pass through a minefeild. I chose the minefeild and didn’t quite see the mines until I ran smack bang into the middle of them. My ship survived in deep amour, which wasn’t that big of a deal as I was shield tanked. I then entered the next room killed the guards, who were quite surprised to see me and stole their blueprint. After this mission my agent promoted me and sent me to a colleague, named Cellis, a few jumps away who apparently used to work for the Gallante intelligence services before defecting to the Guristas.

Minefeild: Somethings in life just have to be done

Cellis had located a listing outpost and wanted me to go there and redirect the signals it was broadcasting so that the Guristas would be able to locate the Caldary Navy assets located in Venal. I was quite surprised at this, normally people tell me to blow them up. A refreshing change. I did as Cellis asked with little trouble, though I was a little supprised when I found a holoreel in the listening outpost which showed a recording of Cellis torturing a man called Inrichi, dated from when she was still working for the Gallante Federation. Inrichi, as it also turns out, also works for the Guristas and there was no love lost between them as the torture had destroyed most of his body and left him somewhat deranged. It seemed that this may cause some problems a little latter on.

2009.12.04.13.19.01

Communications: A Caldari Navy Communications array waiting to be hacked

Redirecting the signals from the listing outpost had allowed Cellis to locate the majority of the Caldari Navy gathering at a fuel deport so they could launch an attack on Guristats assets. It was my job to stop them. While my little Ishkur had no chance against a whole Navy fleet I had one thing working in my favour; the fuel tanks. The whole Navy fleet was gathered around them so all I had to do was blow them up and the Navy ships would follow in short order. Well what can I say, the explosions were spectacular and It was a massacre. However, my job was not over yet.

2009.12.04.14.01.10

Bang: A fuel tank explodes taking out the ships near it.

Some of the fleet had managed to escape to deadspace compound where they had Carrier support. Furthermore, they had locked the inner acceleration gate so only shuttles could get through. While this may stop a ship piloted by a normal crew it couldn’t stop me. I boarded a shuttle the Guristas gave me, which had some extensive modification made to it, namely a great big bomb in the cargo hold. My job was to get into the deadspace pocket and drive my shuttle into the side of a Carrier, where apon my bomb would explode and blow up the carrier. Well the plan went off without a hitch destroying the last of the Navy fleet vessels based in Venal.  As a reward my agent gave me a Dread Guristas Multifrequncy ECM. Not all the Guristas were happy with my agents decisions and my actions though. Kori, my old agent believed that we should have left the Carrier to live. It seemed that tensions were running high in the Guristas ranks.

 2009.12.04.14.24.37

Suicide: Suicide Ganking a Carrier. Gotta love it.

My agent though believed that the latest conflict had shown that some of the Guristas had become weak and it was now time to cull them from the ranks. It was therefore my job to spy on one of two agents, either Kori or Inrichi, and if I saw the opportunity to strike I should. So I chose to spy on Inrichi.

Upon arriving at the station he told me that a Caldari Cooperation was setting up a station that need to be taken out, so it was my job to deliver a Dread Guristas Strike Force to the station while also keeping the surround space clear of Hostiles. Not too difficult of a job and one that was completed with relative ease. After doing this mission for my agent it seemed I had gained some of his trust and he began to tell me of his plans of forcing the pirates to evolve and ascend over the empires. To do this he had been rebuilding a person in a his first attempt at forcing evolution. It was my job to retrieve this experiment from a secret base my first agent, Kori had set up of the purpose of experimenting on this person. So off I went expecting a nice easy mission. The first room in the Deadspace complex contained the wreaks of six dead Leviathans. I decided to pass through this room quietly until some sentry guns located at the acceleration gate to the base fired upon me. Enraged I tore them down and proceeded to go through the acceleration gate, whereupon I was ambushed by some Caldari Navy vessels. Despite their initial advantage they could not stand up to my Ishkur and they were all soon smocking wreaks. I then went over to Kori’s base and proceeded to shoot it down and the retrieve Inrichi’s evolved human from the wreckage. Betrayal was met with vengeance and vengeance won.

2009.12.05.09.42.41

Graveyard: The wrecks of six Leviathans loomed over me.

After I got the experimental human back to the station, Inrichi informed me that he was going to trade the human experiment with Cellis for a series of holoreels that covered his torture session with her. I couldn’t understand this fixation on the past, surely he must know he should look forward to the future. However, if I did this simple mission for him he would give me a Gila BPC. Well that was a nice reward and I was willing to do it. I flew to another Deadspace pocket that was commanded by Cellis and where the trade was to take place. However, as soon I delivered the experiment to the station it was promptly blown up. Apparently Inrichi’s modifications to humanity consisted of explosives used to blow up his rivals. However, when I traded the human over I did not receive the holoreel I was sent to collect, which I also needed to get my Gila BPC. So I took the acceleration gate to the next deadspace pocket in the hopes of finding the holoreel there. Well there was a storage warehouse there, which I presumed contained my holoreel. Between me and the warehouse though there was a small gang of Caldari Navy ships. It seemed that Kori was still poking around the affairs of both Inrichi and Cellis. Nevertheless, I wasn’t going to let these Navy vessels stand in the way of my prize though, so I turned their ships in to some pretty explosions  and picked up my holoreel. After arriving back at the station Inrichi was at I traded him the Holoreel I had acquired for a shiny Gila BPC! It was now time to get my loot back home.

 2009.12.05.10.19.59

The End: My last act in this saga.

The run into Venal had being a quite affair in which I had avoided al the hostiles that infested the systems enroute to my agent. This was not to be the case on the return trip. Seems the locals don’t mind letting you in, but when you come back loaded up with you hard won booty they want to take you out. The first gate camp I came across snagged my buzzard. It had a broadsword for the initial bubble and a Sabre that dropped another bubble and decloaked my buzzard. Fortunately, I was able get my Pod out, thereby allowing me to scout with that. I managed to get the Iskur past the gate camp a little while later.

When I got to within one jump of freedom I ran into another gatecamp, which killed Fishy Nights Pod. So there I was stuck one jump from freedom with a gate camp in the road and no scout. So I set fishy up in condor to head back where Prometheus09 was to try and scout him through. It was then I noticed that one of the guys in local with Prometheus09 was from Noir, which happens to be the corp that Hallan Turek is part off. So I convoed him to see if he could get some scouts for me. Well it turned out he could, but he wanted me to pay. It Wasn’t happening. I needed the ISK. That didn’t stop Noir from coming to the system I was trying to get through though and setting up a gate camp to catch me. Sigh. Seems I put myself a couple of steps back. No matter though, I had got Fishy Night back in system shortly after to scout me through. So began a merry chase through the system with me trying to find a warp point that wouldn’t land me in a sling bubble. Eventfully, I found one and warped to the gate where Hallan then launched a bomb at me, which was not very nice. He could have hurt me. And to think we were once alliance mates.

Despite everything though I was free and now had the pleasure of being able to build myself a Gila.

The Captains Log 16/12

System: Kamio, The Citadel

Ship: Armageddon Class Battleship

While I was scouting POS’s with Epimithius09 looking for a juicy target I came across a system called Kamio which had over a hundred capsuleers in it. Nothing exciting about that you say, very true. However, when I warped to the only station in system there were 5 exhumer pilots outside of it. I checked the belts and noticed that was a Ice belt in system so I warped to it to have a little look see. Low and behold there were 36 miners in the belt.

2009.12.12.10.16.11

Industrious

One thought crossed my head. Disco time.

I asked my CEO for corporate sponsorship to hold this disco since I didn’t have enough ISK to buy my disco geddon (where all my isk when is a topic for another post).  Well my CEO being the great guy he is gave me enough ISK to buy, fit and insure my ship.

It was time to have a disco.

I got everything I needed into Kamio and got Epimithious09 to scout the belt for a acceptable number of Mackinaw pilots I could bring my roaming disco to. Well I found four Mackinaw’s all nice and close together so I got Epimithious09 nice and close to them and then warped Prometheus09 on top of them. The energies from my smartbombs lit up the surrounding space with lots of pretty colours and then CONCORD arrived and killed my ship. The Mackinaw’s were still alive, 2/3 into structure.

Failure was not an option. Time for another disco.

The second time around I had Caladan09 scouting in Augoror set up for Cap transfer since the last time the reason I failed was due to CONCORD neuting me so I couldn’t get another volley of smart bombs off. The next target consisted of three Mackinaws and a Iteron V. Once again my Smartbombs released their waves of energies into the surrounding Ice and more importantly into the ships themselves.

The Disco claimed four victims that day.

Mal Lucian – Mackinaw

Kent Dub – Iteron V

Alexander Norton – Mackinaw

Newo Snave – Mackinaw

Turns out I was actually Karma personified as they had being Suicide Ganking Hulks the day before.

Going Mercenary

The Captains Log 5/12

System: Itamo; The Forge

Ship: Armageddon Class Battleship

The main reason for existence CONCORD Preservation and Recovery is to hit POS that we find so we can strip their modules,. However sometimes its good to do new things so we couldn’t resist doing mercenary contract we found while going through the forums about a corporation wanted to hire out some mercenaries to take out a couple of large POS’s. After a bit of haggling we came to a agreeable price and the details were worked out and we initiated the war decs against Cytoserocin Reactive Electron Phase Enhancements and the Royal Khanid Laboratories. As both POS were in the same system we staggered the war decs to ensure that hostiles from one corp would not interfere in other corps war dec. As it turned out this precaution was unnecessary as we did not see a single war target. It was only a matter of time before the POS fell to the combined might of our lasers and drones. As soon as we had taken out the POS’s our client anchored and onlined their towers (one and two) making it a successful mission, leaving us with some nice ISK and a thank you letter

Great service. I hired them for a recent job, and they were nothing but professional and timely. Everything went smoothly with outstanding customer service. I will definitely use again. I recommend this corp to anyone.

Phyuck
CEO

Hopefully we will get some more contracts soon. If you want to hire us read this post here.
